Hello, my name is Isaac R. Figueroa and I graduated from the University of Texas Pan American with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and a minor in Anthropology. I also graduated with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington State, and currently residing in Texas. I have a number of years in the non-profit world/mental health working with numerous populations, including migrants, where I was ERSEA Coordinator in Migrant Seasonal Head Start, re-entry population in a Halfway House where I was a Case Manager/Social Service Coordinator, and finally working with adolescents/young adults in a SAMHSA club drug prevention grant. As a Mental Health Therapist, I am passionate about creating supportive and safe space for everyone; especially underrepresented communities such as people of color, LGBTQ community, & chronically ill/disabled.Finally, I would like to work with both adults and adolescents who are suffering from anxiety, depression. life/health transitions, relationships/sexuality issues. Finally, I am currently considering returning for a Ph.D. in either forensic psychology or clinical sexology.
I have been told by my clients that I am easy to talk with a direct, but honest approach. During your time with me, I will take a client-led approach where you are in control and set the tone for the sessions. I will be providing guidance at the same time, encouraging you to step outside of your box, way of thinking and create a non-typical approach in order to aid in your life discovery/mental health journey which will hopefully serve you for the rest of your life. And not to worry, we will establish boundaries together which will allow yourself the space for you to grow, and knowing the value of your peace of mind comes first in our sessions is my most important concern. My goal for my clients is for them to come out of each session feeling not just empowered but getting closer to meeting their both their personal & mental health goals
